Some Background Info

'CounterCurrent' began with the ambition of removing misconceptions about Islam and eliminating stereotypes. It realised that the foremost concern of the Muslims particularly of the West should be to exhaust all effort and resources in realising the above goal. The rising tide of hate and the resultant Islamophobia allowed no scope for complacency and wishful thinking. To counter this negativity we began with a series of publications which were primarily directed at non-Muslims. The circulation of this publication, namely, CounterCurrent, produced significant results from the very first day, with the grace of the Almighty. ‘CounterCurrent’ envisages the distribution of literature across the country and beyond. Our services are also aimed at educating the Muslim community about the Faith, especially the younger generation.

Why?

1. It is paramount to intellectually respond to and counter the allegations of those who question, criticise, and even challenge Islam, Qur’an and the Prophet Peace be upon him.

1. Da’wah was the foremost obligation of all the Prophets of Allah SWT and now devolving upon us.

1. It is important to ensure that our current generation of youth and the future generations are themselves protected against the intellectual onslaught on their Imaan and are equipped adequately to deal with the rising challenges.
